Overflow with Thankfulness

I was on the second leg of a trip home.  The airplane was crowded and my long legs were bumping into the seat in front of me.  I was uncomfortably hot, I wasn’t feeling well and it was nearing midnight.   I just wanted out of there and to get off that plane and get home.

The next morning as I lay in bed I opened my Bible and read from 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18,

16 Always be joyful. 17 Never stop praying. 18 Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

I thought back to the night before and asked myself how I could have been thankful in that situation?

Colossians 2:6-8 says:   6 And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. 7 Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.

“Overflowing with thankfulness” is something I want for my life.

Happy Thanksgiving.
