5 things COLLEGE students can do to help the extreme poor.

  1. Go; “seeing is believing” and this may be the only time in your life you get to visit the extreme poor.  Far too many college students “feel” poor but have no idea what extreme poverty is really like.
  2. Join a student missions group or Christian ministry that makes missions a high priority.
  3. Summer internships are available from some Christian relief and development organization.  If you can’t find any internships on your favorite ministry’s website, write the CEO and ask for one.
  4. Text donation options are growing, but know what organization you are giving to and be sure they align with your values and faith.
  5. Sacrifice.  Give up one movie each quarter and one designer coffee a month and make giving to the extreme poor a part of your life now.
